#107: Slinkies and Waves.

The other day, the slinky that had become fiercely tangled with string loop used for hand games months ago suddenly became the subject of my fixation. Curious 7 year olds like to experiment. And adults with a lot to process sometimes need to create order somewhere fast to release the pressure. It was quite the puzzle but now the slinky can slink and the string loop can be contorted into all kinds of shapes. [Long exhale.]

It reminds me of waves on the ocean surface.

Waves present as turbulence like the process of untangling a slinky. But just as waves reflect the patterns of tides and currents at work below, the focus required to untangle a slinky reflects the pursuit of inner purpose and emotional regulation.

The dance between chaos above (external), and rhythm and drive below (within) helps us keep proper perspective throughout our days.

Let it flow.
