The adjacent possible. I once read that value is created when one can see the adjacent possible between two disparate ideas, concepts, or practices. I believe this is true. And it's the saving grace of those of us with multiple interests who desire to have focus.
The more we play in the world the more we see how most everything is connected.
I will focus my time on bringing at least one of those connections to light in a way that is useful to at least a few of you. Therein lies my value, my contribution to it all.

Mistaken or unseen? I was standing in the produce aisle of the grocery store typing a shopping list on my phone dressed in a chic vintage cream wool coat and some of my other favorite fall pieces. Then a lady came up to me and politely asked me whether there was a scale available for weighing vegetables. I looked at her puzzled and she looked at me confused as to why I would look at her that way. I told her that I didn't know because I didn't work there.
And then she saw me.
Of course, she apologized and probably felt foolish. She seemed the type to even be surprised at herself. That she turned out to be one of those people. And of course, that was not nearly my first of such an interaction.
She was mistaken because I was unseen. We clearly see that which we know.
I may always be the 'other' in this land, but I am here nonetheless. I'm not going anywhere, so you should get to know me so that you will no longer be blind.

Pursuit of beauty. Shame. I see a Venn diagram in my mind's eye where the two often overlap. Both are about perception, really. There is nothing wrong with seeking beauty in all its forms. In fact, that journey is a virtuous path if it comes from a place of reverence, abundance, and generosity. The many expressions of beauty in this world make life sweet. Except when it comes from a place of fear and shame. Much like marketing should come from a place of generosity, abundance, and service to exist in its true form, so should the pursuit of beauty.
So, don't be afraid to take off your wig. See it as a beautiful journey to know and appreciate and showcase your own hair. It's a nurturing service to yourself.

Launching. Shipping. Whatever terms you use to describe it don't matter. The heart of the matter is consistently engaging with the world (a very specific subset of the world, really) with generosity and a desire to serve. I've recently learned that the correct order of such engagement is to start small and do right by the few so that you build the trust and attention you need to eventually impact the many. Though the many will and should never be everyone. Hello few!

The power of sharing. Relinquishing a little privacy is about giving to your 'community' and eventually benefiting from the abundance of that community when it comes full circle. What is often unexpected is how much your sharing is a blessing to someone else, the joy of which is so satisfying.

Here begins my journey of regular writing. It is long overdue. My voice feels suppressed inside me. Let's see what I have to say.
